Ashley Aguilar is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Founder and Clinical Director of Aguilar Counseling. With more than a decade of experience in the mental health field, Ashley approaches therapy with care and consistency, creating a space where clients feel heard, valued, and supported while navigating life’s more difficult chapters.
Ashley earned her Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and has extensive training in trauma-informed and evidence-based approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Seeking Safety, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Her clinical work is grounded in an understanding of how trauma impacts the nervous system, relationships, and day-to-day functioning.
Throughout her career, Ashley has worked in state-funded programs, nonprofit organizations, and community mental health settings. She has supported children, adolescents, adults, and families from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, often within complex systems of care. Her diverse experience shapes a grounded and flexible approach to therapy, allowing her to support clients with both clinical skill and an understanding of the larger realities affecting their lives.
Ashley works with individuals, teens, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Her therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and skills-oriented, helping clients build clarity and practical tools they can use beyond the therapy room.
As Clinical Director of Aguilar Counseling, Ashley provides clinical leadership grounded in consistency, ethical practice, and strong clinical standards. She is committed to creating a space where clients feel safe to do meaningful work and where clinicians are supported through clear clinical standards, thoughtful leadership, and a culture that values quality care and professional growth. Ashley is also passionate about increasing access to mental health services through secure telehealth, allowing clients across California to receive consistent support in a flexible and accessible way.
Ashley believes that healing is supported through connection, trust, and consistency in care. Her goal is to help clients feel more grounded in themselves, more confident in their choices, and supported as they move forward.
