Youth services ages 12 and older
Child and adolescent therapy can support youth during different stages of emotional and developmental growth. Therapy offers a supportive space for children and teens to explore emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen resilience in ways that are appropriate for their age and needs.
Aguilar Counseling provides secure telehealth therapy for children and adolescents ages 12 and older across California. Our approach is collaborative, developmentally informed, and tailored to the unique needs of each child and family.
How therapy can support youth
Youth therapy can offer children and adolescents a supportive space to better understand and express their emotions, build coping skills for stress and big feelings, and strengthen emotional regulation and problem-solving skills. Therapy may also support healthier communication within the family and help youth navigate school-related stress and life transitions.
Caregiver involvement is included when helpful, clinically appropriate, and aligned with the child’s treatment goals.
Clinical focus areas
Our clinicians have experience supporting youth who are navigating anxiety and ongoing worry, low mood or depressive symptoms, trauma-related stress, school-related stress and adjustment concerns, emotional and behavioral regulation challenges, and family transitions or changes in relationships. Treatment is individualized and grounded in evidence based practices while remaining flexible and supportive.
Telehealth services for youth
All youth services are provided through secure telehealth. Telehealth allows children and families to attend sessions from a familiar and comfortable environment while maintaining privacy, consistency, and continuity of care. Sessions are structured to remain engaging and clinically effective in a virtual setting.
